A Tribute To Master Mentor - My Dad

It's the 23rd of May, 2021, and it's been a month since we lost our dad, and it is yet to sink in that he's no longer with us. Possibly it is because of the energies he displayed throughout his life that it's hard to believe that such a dynamic person has left the world.

I usually write articles on Linkedin and my blogpost on lessons I have learned from my mentors. Those were the mentors who came into my life for a span of short periods.

But my dad was my lifetime mentor and hence a Master Mentor. He had many qualities that anyone would adore and imbibe. I was fortunate enough to have observed him and accumulated those qualities I am still learning. I don't think I have even touched halfway in that journey.

The idea behind writing this article is to go back down memory lane and relish the fond moments we spent. It is also to pay him tribute by remembering the qualities he left his imprint on us.

A few of his qualities included the hard work he displayed for any task at hand, be it personal or professional. He was a person who used to give his 100% to any job. He could network and connect with people while leaving an impression that existed for a long time. With the ever-youthful eagerness to learn new things, he was a millennial at 73. He had a natural knack for connecting with people of all age groups, decades younger and a decade older to him. He was a religious agnostic and used to respect all religions. I still remember celebrating Eid and Christmas with his friends. His energy came from the fitness regime he followed, which included Surya namaskars, etc.

I can go on and on, but I would want to remember and pen down the memories associated with my dad while describing these qualities and many more in more detail during the weeks to come.

My dad will forever be in my heart. And, I am grateful to him for the kind of human being I am today.

I love you, dad, now and forever.
