It is June 4, 2021, and it's my chacha's birthday. He would have been 61 today had he not left us for heavenly abode on October 15, 2016. I still remember that phone call at 1.30 a.m. midnight, following which I could not sleep for the next many nights.
He was a true friend, philosopher, and guide to most family members and me. He was always caring and understanding like a friend, an intelligent thinker like a philosopher. He was always showing the right path like a guide. When you think of a person everyone approaches for sincere advice in a family; it is him. Despite being the youngest of the six siblings, he was looked upon as someone keeping the family's strings attached.
I shared a very close bond with my chacha. And I was lucky to have someone who was always there for me for any guidance, opinion, or support.
Being an avid reader, he introduced me to some absolute classics, including The Autobiography of Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan, The Law of Success by Napolean Hill, Novels by P.G. Woodhouse, Britannica Encylopedia, and many more.
I still remember him motivating me to join computer class at the age of 10, helping me realize the subjects I needed to opt for in class XI, to guiding me towards the correct workstream. The delight on his face whenever I received an award or recognition.
One of the numerous things he was best at was managing relationships in our big joint family. He was the sutradhaar. He could guide you on the intricacies of any relationship, i.e., son-father, husband-wife, etc. He was more like a son to my father and an elder brother to me.
He was a born artist and was highly hard-working (the quality I have seen in my family's elders). He was very sharp and witty in responses, had excellent negotiation skills, and was one of the most loving and caring people I have met.
I truly and deeply admire him, considering him as my role model. And I try to give my best in following in his footsteps.
Happy Birthday, Chacha!
